Creating a Curl Schedule- How T0

Whether you're just starting out or have treated your curls for years, we can all agree having curls is a full time job, but having a curl schedule can help with that. Washing your hair too much or not washing it enough can be very damaging to curls. But what exactly is a healthy “medium”? Curls need moisture to survive so washing your hair everyday is stripping your hair from its natural oils. Overusing shampoo is very harmful and has many long term negative effects. Not using enough is just as bad though. Curls need to be conditioned about once or twice a week depending on your hair. If you notice your curls starting to frizz and look dry, it's most likely best to wash it soon. Don't get me wrong, some girls can go a long time without washing, but most of us aren't blessed with that trait. Personally, I wash my hair twice a week because my curls don't last long enough to go a fourth day without washing. If I have second or third day hair and I want to wear it down, I need to do a mini curl routine. Every girl’s is different but mine consists of dampening my hair with a spray bottle and adding some more product into it. This restores the moisture enough to go another day or two without washing. Keeping a mobile or physical calendar is a great way to manage your curl schedule.
