Allison's Horrible Hair Stages- 2/1/2022

Every curly girl goes through some horrible stages in their hair life. Some are aggressive straightening, others being horrible gels, but Allison's is far, far worse. Allison was born into an extremely Italian family with some insane curly hair genes, but she was the only one born with straight hair. As she hit her early elementary years, her hair started to form a curl pattern. With a huge curly hair family, you would think she had some help growing up, wrong. Her mom would just put her hair into a ponytail and send her on her day. Which as a 6-7 year old, that's acceptable, but as she hit older elementary, she actually had to start doing things herself. She still heavily relied on her mother. Her mom would cut her hair in the kitchen sink because Allison was too scared to let someone else touch it. On top of all of that, Allison's whole family kept trying to figure out how to manage this poor girls’ hair. Every morning for school, Allison would throw her hair up in a ponytail (by herself) and absolutely not care how she looked. Her curls were so damaged from her swim team and how she treated it, that her hair would stick up. A couple years later, Allison tried everything to make her hair straight. She would even put conditioner in her DRY hair to keep it straight. Fast forward to the summer before her 8th grade year, she started to try to care for her curls(keyword-“tried”.) She went to a summer camp and met some girls with the same curl type as her. They all recommended to start using gel. So when Allison arrived home, she went to CVS and got a lot of gel. I'm talking about the gels you used for your ballet buns when you were 6, not curly hair gel. So you can just assume how bad that was. At the end of her 8th grade, she met me. She told me how she saw my curls and how she immediately needed to fix hers. I recommended my favorite products to her and my favorite techniques. The product brand I recommended to her was shea moisture, and as of right now, that's the only thing that has helped her. Now Allison has gorgeous 3c, 4a, and 4b curls. Love you allisony<3
